Major General Hisham Amna, Governor of Beheira, received in his office today Dr. Manen Abdel-Maqsoud, Secretary-General of the General Secretariat for Mental Health and Addiction Treatment at the Ministry of Health and Population, accompanied by Dr. Rania Zakaria, Director-General of the General Department for Hospital Affairs at the General Secretariat for Mental Health and Addiction Treatment in the Republic, and Dr. Sayed Khalil, Director The Planning and Follow-up Department of the General Secretariat for Mental Health and Addiction Treatment, in the presence of Dr. Nihal Balbaa, Deputy Governor, Dr. Hani Juma’a, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health, and Dr. Hamouda Al-Jazzar, Undersecretary of the Directorate of Health in Beheira Governorate.
The Governor of Beheira stressed that the visit came with the aim of providing places designated for psychiatry and addiction treatment and centers of excellence for autism, as part of the efforts undertaken by the governorate in coordination with various Egyptian state institutions to eliminate the problem of drug abuse and addiction.
Major General Hisham Amna also confirmed that the delegation is scheduled to visit the site at the Family Health Center in Aflaqa in Damanhour Center, in preparation for the establishment of a medical complex that includes “mental health services – addiction treatment services – autism treatment center” in Beheira Governorate to serve the people of the governorate and the neighboring governorates, residing in The western delta region in general.
The Governor of the lake indicated that all means of full support will be provided to end the procedures of the comprehensive medical complex for the treatment of mental health diseases in order to contribute to the completion of its implementation as soon as possible.
This comes within the framework of the Egyptian state’s interest in advancing the level of the health system within all the cities and villages of the Beheira governorate, especially the file related to mental health treatment and addiction treatment in Beheira governorate, as well as expanding the provision of mental health services and addiction treatment in all governorates of the republic.
