The government resolved the controversy surrounding the possible side effects of the “AstraZeneca” vaccine, which was acknowledged by the manufacturer itself, which forced it to withdraw it from all over the world.

According to what was stated by the official spokesman for the government, Minister Delegate in charge of Relations with Parliament, Mustafa Paytas, all vaccines approved in Morocco cannot be used unless they have been approved by scientific committees.

In a symposium that followed the government council held today, Thursday, May 9, Paytas denied that the government was evading discussing the issue in Parliament, pointing out that the House of Representatives has not yet completed its structures so that many topics can be discussed in it.

In another context, the official spokesman for the government addressed the criticism that accompanied the cessation of direct social support for many families, stressing that the latter is based on the targeting set by the government through several conditions and procedures.

The government official explained that the currently available numbers confirm that a large segment of Moroccans benefit from direct social support, but within the framework of the targeting procedure set by the law and the decrees associated with it, pointing out that there are channels that can be used to express any grievance in this direction.

On the other hand, Mustafa Paytas, Minister Delegate in charge of Relations with Parliament, revealed that 65,000 requests for housing support had been received, noting that 20 percent of these requests represent Moroccans around the world who want to acquire housing.

The minister explained that 38 percent of the aforementioned requests were expressed by women, and this is important, and 70 percent of the requests concern housing for 300,000 dirhams.

Regarding the housing applications that were accepted, the spokesman stated that they are estimated at 90 percent of the total applications, stressing that the overwhelming majority of those requesting housing support meet the conditions for benefiting.

In the same context, the spokesman stated that 8,000 applicants received positive answers regarding the acceptance of their applications because they had completed the applicable procedure.

The government spokesman concluded that 50 percent of the objectives of the housing support project had been achieved, noting that the project is progressing at very important steps and will achieve all its objectives, as he put it.
