On Tuesday afternoon, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis will visit Penteli together with a group of relevant ministers, as a meeting will be held with the participation of the Region of Attica and mayors regarding the findings of the autopsies and the restoration actions that the state has launched in the areas affected by the fire.

According to what was announced, the ministers of Environment and Energy, Interior, Finance, Climate Crisis and Civil Protection, the Deputy Minister of State Aid, the regional governor of Attica, the mayors of Penteli, Chalandrio, Pallini, Vrilissi, Dionysos, Oropou, Marathon, Rafina will participate in the meeting. – Pikermio.

With his statement on the day of the fifteenth of August, the prime minister assured that “the State will make sure to move quickly” in order to compensate those affected by the fire.

The government is running the procedures to open the platform for the state aid until August 21, through which the 14 measures of support for the firecrackers will be implemented.

At the same time, since Tuesday, the levels of the General Directorate for the Restoration of the Effects of Natural Disasters (GDAEFK) of the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection were in the field and carried out checks and autopsies on building infrastructure in areas of Northern and Eastern Attica after the fires of August 11, 2024 .

Specifically, the GDAEFK levels were activated – under the guidance of the General Secretariat for Natural Disaster Recovery and State Aid – with more than 60 engineers and autopsies were carried out in eight municipalities of Attica, having already covered most of the areas affected by the fires.

In particular, the autopsies of the GDAEFK levels were carried out in fire-affected areas of the municipalities of Vrilissi, Dionysos, Marathon, Pallini, Penteli, Rafina-Pikermio, Chalandrio and Oropos, in a context of close cooperation with the municipalities, as the visits and autopsies are based on the guidance and information from the executives of the Local Government Organizations.

In addition, yesterday, emergency measures were announced for the fire victims of Attica. According to the new ministerial decision, the measure concerns exclusively the employees of the businesses that suffered damage and are active in the municipalities of Vrilissi, Penteli, Chalandrio, Dionysos, Marathon, Oropos, and specifically in the municipal communities of Vrilissi, Melissi, Nea Penteli, Penteli, Chalandrio, Agios Stefanos, Dionysos, Rhodopolis, Stamata, Varnavas, Grammatiko, Marathon, Nea Makri, Afidno, Kapandriti, Malakasa and Polydendri.

Employees whose employment contract is suspended are entitled to extraordinary financial aid, as special purpose compensation, amounting to 534 euros, which corresponds to 30 days.

Employees whose employment contracts are suspended are provided with full insurance coverage, calculated on their nominal salary, for the period of suspension of the employment contract, as well as for the holiday allowances corresponding to this period.

Businesses are required to submit a responsible declaration every month to the P.S. TOOL, with which to declare the employees whose contracts are suspended. After the first declaration of suspension of the business-employer, the eligible employees must submit a responsible declaration on the relevant electronic platform.

From today 16/8/2024 until 31/8/2024, the P.S. ERGANI will be available for the submission of declarations of suspension of workers’ employment contracts for the month of August 2024, by businesses in the areas affected by the fires.
