After the repair bonus on household appliances and smartphones, the executive is attacking the French wardrobe. From this Tuesday, it is possible to benefit from help to have clothes and shoes repaired. Accessible to everyone, this new bonus aims to extend the lifespan of our clothes.

All you have to do is go to one of the artisans certified by the Refashion platform. The list of addresses is accessible on the bonus repair site. Once there, you unconditionally benefit from an immediate reduction of 6 euros for a simple undone seam, to 25 euros for the resoling of leather shoes.

Help that is not limited

The only limit is that the bonus must not exceed 60% of the total price of the repair. Otherwise, this assistance is not limited. You can enjoy it several times a year. A significant boost according to experts.

“Generally, the price of the repair is very expensive. The advantage of having a discounted price is to be able to afford this repair on your property rather than throwing it away or going to buy a new property,” explains Béryl of Labouchère, founder of Tilly, a platform that connects artisans and consumers.

154 million euros of investment

Many professionals hope that this new bonus will push the French to change their habits. “Before repairing your shoes, it was something that everyone did. And that’s why there were shoemakers on every street corner. Today, there are fewer of us because people are a little disinterested in that. It’s coming back. There are new interests for the profession and for this kind of thing. And the bonus will help speed up or at least help certain clients who no longer come to see us,” explains Maximilien Maurice, shoemaker in Paris.

In total, the eco contribution of the brands in the sector will put 154 million euros on the table by 2028 to finance this system, in the hope that professionals will play the game without increasing their prices.
