The government has done such a kind thing to change the date of cinemas, good news has come

The provincial government has announced tax exemption for cinema owners across Punjab for one year.

According to the ongoing notification, Excise Department Punjab has given tax exemption for one year in the entertainment duty.

According to the tax exemption notification issued by Excise Punjab, tax exemption has been given from July 1, 2020 to June 30, 2021.

According to the current notification, there will be tax exemption for five years for newly built cinemas.

It may be noted that on June 20, people associated with the cinema industry welcomed the decision to abolish entertainment tax from cinemas in the budget for the new financial year 2020-21.

In the new financial year, the entertainment duty was reduced from twenty to five percent by the Punjab government, while cinema halls were also exempted from entertainment duty till June 30, 2021.

Chairman Film Exhibitors Association Zoreez Lashari thanked the government for reducing the duty and demanded that the one-year exemption be extended.

Chairman Film Exhibitors Association said that the Punjab government’s decision is good but cinema owners have suffered a lot, at least five years of tax should be waived.

Chairman Cinema Management Association said in this context that the industry was in decline, the government’s decision is commendable.

Chairman Cinema Management Association said regarding the government’s decision that a very good decision has been taken, it will end economic exploitation.
