The government extends the working hours of shops, restaurants and cafes until 2 am during the month of Ramadan

The Supreme Committee for the Management of the Epidemics and Health Pandemic Crisis held its meeting today, headed by Dr. Endowments, Dr. Khaled El-Anany, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Counselor Omar Marawan, Minister of Justice, Dr. Tarek Shawky, Minister of Education and Technical Education, Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education, Dr. Mohamed Maait, Minister of Finance, and Major General Mahmoud Shaarawy, Minister of Local Development Major General Mahmoud Tawfik, Minister of the Interior, Pilot Mohamed Manar, Minister of Civil Aviation, Dr. Mohamed Awad Taj El-Din, Advisor to the President of the Republic for Health and Prevention Affairs, Major General Bahaa El-Din Zeidan, President of the Egyptian Authority for Unified Procurement, Medical Supply and Management, and Medical Technology Management, and Dr. Tamer Essam President of the Egyptian Medicines Authority.

During the meeting, it was agreed to ease a number of previously approved restrictions with regard to confronting the “Corona” virus, foremost of which is allowing the opening of the events attached to mosques, as well as performing the lesson of the afternoon, and the Tarawih risk, in major mosques during the month of Ramadan..

Ambassador Nader Saad, the official spokesman for the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, stated that it was also agreed to allow the establishment of Rahman tables during the month of Ramadan, as well as extending the closing dates of shops, restaurants, cafes and others during the month of Ramadan until two o’clock in the morning, provided that the Ministers of Tourism and Antiquities, and Local Development issued Executive decisions in this regard.

It was also agreed to hold weddings and celebrations in closed halls in hotels, while adhering to precautionary measures, starting from next April..

During the meeting, the Acting Minister of Higher Education and Minister of Health reviewed a report on the epidemiological situation of the Corona virus pandemic in Egypt, where he referred to a number of positive indicators that are reflected in the follow-up of the epidemiological trend locally.
