The government exchanges with the political parties

The Prime Minister, Head of Government, Victoire Tomégah-Dogbé chaired, on August 04, 2022, at his office in Lomé, a meeting between the government and political actors.

The objective of this meeting, which was well attended by representatives of political parties, was to inform these actors regarding the current security situation, as well as the measures taken by the government, under the very senior leadership of the Head of State, Faure Essozimna Gnassingbé, to deal with it.

The participants were also discussed, in particular, on the history of terrorism and the sub-regional cartography, the state of the question in relation to our country, the security, administrative, economic and social provisions and measures taken, including the implementation of the state of security emergency and the emergency plan for the resilience of the Savannah Region.

The meeting made it possible to collect the contributions of political actors with the aim of improving the actions already implemented by the country, in order to face these terrorist threats.

In this spirit of concerted governance and promotion of dialogue, the government commended all the political parties for their manifest interest, as well as the fruitful exchanges during this meeting, which falls within the framework of the regular consultations that are carried out with the entire population.

This meeting, which began with a minute of silence in tribute to the victims, also allowed the actors present to present their condolences to the bereaved families and their compassion for the injured.
