The Government delivered today decent housing for 220 families in Central

Asuncion, IP Agency.– Some 220 families from five districts of the Central department received the keys to their new homes on Friday, built by the Government of Paraguay through the Ministry of Urban Development, Housing and Habitat.

The President of the Republic, Santiago Peña, handed over to the beneficiary families the keys to the homes built through the National Fund for Social Housing (Fonavis).

“This is what will help the poorest people to have a better well-being, a better quality of life,” said the president, pointing out the investments his government is making in both the construction of housing and the improvement of health and education services.

The inaugurated homes belong to projects located in the cities of Luque, Areguá, Ypané, Ñemby, Limpio and San Antonio, communities in which the construction of these homes motivated the local economy by generating sources of employment in the area.

Each home consists of 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, integrated kitchen-dining-living room, and a covered outdoor laundry room. The homes were built with nationally produced ceramic materials.

“I know that many families still do not have their own homes and I will not stop until all humble families have their own decent homes. In this first year, 17,082 homes, that is almost 100,000 people in Paraguay who, thanks to a home, can have a better future,” said President Peña.
