Madrid, Feb 16 (EFE).- The Government asks the Generalitat and its president, Pere Aragonès, to be calm before the call for a new meeting of the dialogue table because there will be one soon, although it still does not specify an indicative date for her.
Aragonés has been demanding that meeting, this week he has asked the President of the Government, Pero Sánchez, for courage to advance in that table and this Wednesday he has reminded him that he was invested thanks to the support of ERC, he has warned him that if he wants to continue leading of the Executive, must “dialogue and reach agreements”, and has challenged him to specify his proposal for Catalonia.
If the government spokeswoman, Isabel Rodríguez, stressed on Tuesday that courage is not necessary because they dialogue “out of conviction” and guaranteed that there will be a new meeting of the table soon, sources from the Executive have told Efe at the insistence of Aragonés that he must have Calm down.
“Let there be calm. There will be that meeting. He knows it and the only thing missing is to advance in content and specify the date later,” they add without confirming if that meeting can be convened in March.
Along these lines, other government sources have stated that “every day has its eagerness” and that first the meeting scheduled for Friday of the State-Generalitat Bilateral Commission must be held and then the Conference of Presidents of La Palma on February 25 .
From Moncloa, it has been requested at all times to advance in previous agreements on the content of the table before calling a new meeting because, otherwise, they believe that it would not make sense.
In this regard, ERC sources affirm that the Government and the Generalitat have been having conversations regarding the content for some time and that the initial forecast is that this meeting would have been convened for the month of January.
They demand Sánchez, as Aragonès has also done, to specify his proposal for Catalonia, since they warn that, if he does not do so, he will be defrauding even those who voted for the PSC, trusting that they would propose an alternative.
They also differentiate the meeting of the Bilateral Commission on Friday from the dialogue table because they emphasize that they are different areas.
In this sense, they affirm that the Generalitat is not going to fall into the “trap” of just talking regarding issues such as the Rodalies of Catalonia, no matter how important they may be, but that progress must be made in other scenarios.
In ERC it is assumed that “the PSOE only understands the stick”, but the sources cited specify that this does not mean that the talks will break off.
Both from the Government and from the ERC, the absence of calling a new meeting of the dialogue table is disassociated from the presence or not of Aragonès at the Conference of Presidents to be held in La Palma next week.
Aragonès has advanced this Wednesday that he will not attend that Conference “for now” because there is no point of agreement on the agenda and it will only serve to take “a photo”.
The Sánchez government does not take this absence for granted and continues to defend the presence of all the presidents.
