Burkina: The government announces the creation of a body responsible for reconciliation and living together
Ouagadougou, August 24, 2022 (AIB) – The Burkinabè government announced on Wednesday the creation of a body called the National Council for National Reconciliation and Living Together (CNRVE) to boost the process underway in Burkina Faso.
“In order to provide real impetus to the ongoing national reconciliation process, it has become necessary to set up a body to guide and monitor government policy in terms of social cohesion and national reconciliation. said government spokesman Lionel Bilgo.
For him, this body, called the National Council for National Reconciliation and Living Together (CNRVE), is responsible for providing guidance and monitoring the implementation of the integrated action plan of strategies relating to social cohesion.
Mr. Bilgo spoke on Wednesday in Ouagadougou, at the end of the traditional meeting of ministers, chaired by the President of Faso Paul Damiba.
He said that the CNRVE will work to prevent radicalization and counter violent extremism.
“He (Council) is responsible for providing guidance for reparation and compensation for damages suffered by victims whose cases are processed and assessed as well as newly registered cases, to the Ministry in charge of Social Cohesion”, a- he added.
Lionel Bilgo said that the government has placed the body under the supervision of the ministry in charge of social cohesion.
