The Minister of Economy, Sergio Massa, announced that non-reimbursable contributions (ANR) for $1,000 million will be granted to cooperatives for the planting stage that will begin in the coming weeks, reported the Palacio de Hacienda.

According to a statement, Massa and the Secretary of Agriculture, Juan José Bahillo, met last night at the headquarters of the Intercooperative Agricultural Confederation (Coninagro), with the president of the entity, Elbio Laucirica.

There, Massa and Bahillo announced to the head of Coninagro the granting by the National State of ANR for $1,000 million, to help small and medium-sized producers gathered in cooperatives in the sowing stage.

“Through the CoopAR Program, the Ministry of Agriculture has transferred more than $300 million for value-added and investment projects and we hope to finalize new financing for around $200 million,” Bahillo said this followingnoon on his Twitter account.

In addition, he announced that his area presented a bill for regional economies “with the purpose of promoting and developing their growth.”

CoopAr is aimed at agro-industrial cooperatives throughout the country and covers up to 100% in ANR of projects presented by producers that include improvements in infrastructure, minor works, purchase of facilities and machinery, inputs to modernize production processes, and adoption of digital technologies.

Meanwhile, it covers up to 50% for those investments presented that exceed $50 million.

For his part, the head of Coninagro highlighted the joint work and dialogue in the meeting around “issues of concern for producers”, such as “access to financing and the possibilities of being able to access the necessary inputs to produce”. , in an area that he described as “constructive”.

“We reviewed issues that concern cooperative producers in the Argentine countryside throughout the country and we exchanged many aspects of the current political and national economy,” Laucirica told Télam.

In the same way, “ideas were exchanged regarding the agricultural dollar and its impact on regional economies.”

Another point discussed at the meeting is the possibility for producers to access revolving funds, especially in the case of those who “are not banked and have no other possibility of accessing credit and financing in this emergency,” said Laucirica.
