The Campania member of the League and regional coordinator of the party Gianpiero Zinzi provided an update on the funds allocated by the government for the region: “The government has provided funding of 60 million euros for Campania which will serve to implement urgent and fundamental interventions to deal with hydrogeological instability. Ours is among the regions most exposed to risks and these incoming resources are the right answer to secure a fragile territory and its communities. In particular, 30 million euros will be used for the hydraulic restoration of the Volturno and Sele basins. In the province of Caserta, 2.5 million will be used for the historic center of Caiazzo, 7.5 million for the hydraulic arrangement of the town of Alvignano and 1.9 million euros for the restructuring and modernization of the consortium water pumping plants in Castel Volturno. For the Vallone Santa Lucia in Sarno, in the province of Salerno, and for the recovery and consolidation of the historic center of Sant’Agata De’ Goti, in the province of Benevento, 7.9 million have been provided respectively. Finally, 3.5 million euros for hydrogeological improvement interventions in Baselice, in the Sannio area”.
“Investing, foreseeing important resources, means above all – underlined Zinzi – focusing on the prevention of hydrogeological risk. Campania has so far paid too high a price due to catastrophic and extraordinary events that have caused extensive damage. Faced with this picture, we welcome the intervention of the Government which, with an act of great concreteness, decides to invest to make our region safer, putting an end to the lack of land management policies that have taken place in recent years. years. I thank deputy minister Vannia Gava for his great commitment, with the League Campania is at the center of the government agenda”.

**Interview with Gianpiero Zinzi, Campania Regional Coordinator of the League**
*Editor:* Good afternoon, Mr. Zinzi. Thank you for joining us today to discuss the recent funding allocated for Campania. Can you tell us more about the government’s decision to allocate 60 million euros for your region?
*Zinzi:* Good afternoon, and thank you for having me. The allocation of 60 million euros is a significant step by the government to undertake urgent interventions aimed at addressing hydrogeological instability in Campania. As you know, our region is particularly vulnerable to natural risks, and these funds are essential to safeguard both our environment and the communities that live here.
*Editor:* What specific projects will these funds support?
*Zinzi:* The funding will be directed towards a variety of critical initiatives. Primarily, it will focus on reinforcing our riverbanks, improving drainage systems, and enhancing overall land management practices. Our goal is to not only respond to immediate threats but also to build long-term resilience against future environmental challenges.
*Editor:* How do you assess the current state of hydrogeological instability in Campania, and what risks does it pose to local residents?
*Zinzi:* The situation is quite serious. Campania has a diverse landscape that includes mountains, rivers, and coastlines—each presenting unique challenges. Flash floods, landslides, and soil erosion are frequent occurrences that endanger both lives and properties. This funding provides us with an opportunity to implement meaningful preventive measures and protect our local communities.
*Editor:* What is your message to the residents of Campania regarding this announcement?
*Zinzi:* I want to reassure the people of Campania that their safety is our top priority. The government’s commitment to investing in our vulnerable regions underscores the importance of addressing these environmental challenges. Together, we will work towards a more secure future, and I urge everyone to stay informed and engaged in these initiatives.
*Editor:* Thank you, Mr. Zinzi, for your insights. We look forward to seeing the positive impacts of this funding in Campania.
*Zinzi:* Thank you for having me. It’s crucial that we continue this conversation and promote awareness around these important issues.
