“The Golden Jet” is no more

An NHL legend is no more. Bobby Hull dies at 84 announces the Chicago Blackhawks with whom he won the Stanley Cup in 1961.

Nicknamed ‘The Golden Jet’ for his explosiveness, Bobby Hull played 15 seasons for the Blackhawks. He scored over 50 goals in five of them. Like his son Brett in 2009, he was inducted into the NHL Hall of Fame in 1983.

In 1972, Bobby Hull was the first player to sign a million-plus, ten-year contract to sign for Winnipeg in the now defunct WHA.
