And the absolutely cult dance is back to write its own history once more this year at the Patrinos Carnival of 2024. On Saturday night, the Mirafiore center was suffocatingly filled with dozens of crew members, members of theater and cultural groups, but also keen carnival-goers who enjoyed to their heart’s content the retro spree of the famous “Golden Dance”. Bessy Argyraki -who for years has associated her name with the Patrino Carnival- and Christos Dantes – as promised – excited the audience with their songs and music, in a party that lasted until morning.
The “Carnival Fathers” Thanasis Lambropoulos and Panos Heinoporos, initiators and organizers of the prom, took care of the last detail of the legendary party, anticipating the groups who celebrated the “old-fashioned” celebration with their inspired disguises. Chocolates, streamers, and wax eggs were the highlights of the event, which celebrated with satirical fun the “golden” past of the city, proving that it has “taken root” in the consciousness of the fanatical fans of the carnival Patras.
On the decks Stelios Apostolopoulos welcomed the carnivalgoers with 45 CDs of original performances of favorite carnival songs.
It was a special evening full of fun, singing and dancing with the sounds of great and timeless hits that we have all sung and danced to and associated with special moments in our lives from 1990 until today. It goes without saying that Bessys Argyraki’s hits “Body and salt” and “Storm in my heart” caused “panic” as did the big hits “Push ups”, “Fingerprints”, “Someone loves you” by Christos Dantes, who he always succeeds with his songs in generously giving the public new musical experiences.
