He Global Green Hydrogen Forum begins today in Bariloche with the expectations placed in announcements by the national government regarding the regulatory law and with a marked interest in debating the current situation of this renewable energy, the advances worldwide, the opportunities and investments that are projected around what was called the “fuel of the future”.
The event had in the anteroom doubts and pressure from the Australian company Fortescue, that promotes a development in Río Negro, and that conditioned the continuity of its investments to the national law that the Minister of Economy, Sergio Massa, promised to promote.
The national government will arrive today Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, Daniel Filmuswhich will present a panel at 9:45 and in the followingnoon the Secretary of Energy, Flavia Royónwho has scheduled his presentation at 17:15.
So far, the Government has not anticipated eventual announcements regarding the law. It is known that the draft of the project passed through the Energy filter and remained in the hands of the Ministry of Economy for its final evaluation.
Fortescue -who collaborated with the organization of the forum and will participate with exhibitors- this week pointed out that the regulatory norms should include access to financing at internationally competitive costs; free availability of foreign currency to pay debt and creditors abroad; a favorable tax regime; financial and fiscal stability; coexistence between the Law for the Promotion of Hydrogen and Free Zones and the expansion of the national electrical system.

The opening will be in charge of the governor Arabela Carreras and the CEO of YPF, Pablo Iulianoin person from the Bustillo room of the Llao Llao hotel, while Malcolm Turnbull, president of the Green Hydrogen Organization and Francesco La Camera, General Director, International Renewable Energy Agency, will participate virtually.
The Forum is organized by the Government of Río Negro, the Swiss entity GH2, and the Federal Investment Council and will last for two days, which will be transmitted by streaming, with some 40 exhibitors including experts, scientists, businessmen, officials and ambassadors from various countries.
Representatives of countries of the European Union, the United Kingdom, Australia, the Netherlands, Israel, Germany, Romania, the Czech Republic, Korea, Iceland, the United States, Brazil, Uruguay, Chile and Guatemala will attend.
International companies such as CWP Global, CAF, Y-Tec, Siemens, Fichtner, Pan American Energy, Acindar, VMC, PREAR and PTX will participate from the private sector; and institutions committed to the global green agenda such as the International Renewable Energy Agency, the Fraunhofer Institute, INVAP, Fundación Bariloche, CONICET, CNEA, CEARE, IRAM, and Giz.
