The 3.5 km long themed trail “The Glass Valley” in Weißenkirchen im Attergau is an ideal destination for families with children. The path leads from the Glass Museum in Weißenkirchen into the “Freudenthal”, where there was a lot of activity around a glassworks until 1942.
The path is divided into six sections with thematic focuses, which of course revolve around the glass tradition, but also around nature in the forest. In the abandoned village of Freudental, children are still looking for the green glass stones, and a former workers’ house is a reminder of the old days (www.dasglaesernetal.at).
