The German chancellor plans to visit Russia on February 15

The newspaper “Süddeutsche Zeitung” revealed that German Chancellor Olaf Scholz intends to visit Russia on February 15 in the context of tension over Ukraine. And the German newspaper reported, in a report published today, Thursday, that Schulz will arrive in Moscow following upcoming visits to Washington and Kiev, where he will hold talks focused on settling the Ukrainian crisis.

And on Wednesday evening, Schulz indicated, in an interview with ZDF channel, that he plans to visit Moscow and hold a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, stressing that Germany is actively cooperating with allies on the Ukrainian file. And Schulz had previously confirmed his country’s refusal to sell any lethal weapons to Ukraine, but he reiterated Germany’s readiness to participate in a united Western response to the “possible invasion of Ukraine by Russia.”
