The market on the Athens Stock Exchange closed with a marginal increase today (24.4.2024), as the initial gains, which had led the market above the levels of 1,460 units, were limited.
The market closed with a positive sign for the sixth session in which the main stock market index recorded total gains of 6.74% on the stock exchange, while the shares of Motor Oil, National Bank and Eurobank outperformed from the high capitalization.
The General Price Index closed at 1,448.70 points, marking a marginal increase of 0.06%. It is the highest close since the April 15, 2011 session.
Intra-sessionally it had also broken the levels of 1,460 units, recording a higher price at 1,462.68 units (+1.03%).
The value of transactions fluctuated at high levels and amounted to 175.44 million euros, while 45,378,304 shares were traded.
The large-cap index edged up 0.06%, while the mid-cap index fell 0.57%.
Of the high capitalization shares, the biggest increase was recorded by the shares of Motor Oil (+2.79%), Ethniki (+1.92%), Eurobank (+1.64%), Jumbo (+1, 14%) and Saranti (+1.02%).
On the contrary, the largest decline was recorded by the shares of Alpha Bank (-2.40%), Quest Participations (-1.93%), Lamda Development (-1.56%) and Mytileneos (-1.29%) .
Eurobank and Alpha Bank presented the largest volume of transactions, trading 13,520,652 and 10,949,274 shares, respectively.
The highest value of transactions was recorded by Piraeus with 41.48 million euros and Eurobank with 27.20 million euros.
48 stocks moved up, 64 down and 14 remained stable.
The biggest increase was recorded by the shares: Kepenou Mills +9.89% and Epilectos +9.79%.
The biggest drop was registered by the shares: Tzirakian(k) -4.48% and Voyatzoglou Systems -4.00%.
