Presidential candidate number 3 Ganjar Pranowo said that the Ganjar-Mahfud TPN legal team would immediately register a lawsuit once morest the KPU regarding the results of the presidential election with the Constitutional Court (MK). His party prepared various pieces of evidence that would be submitted to the Constitutional Court.
“We have prepared a team from the legal team for us to immediately register, whether tomorrow or Saturday, so that we can immediately submit everything we have prepared for consideration by the Constitutional Court judges later,” said Ganjar in a press conference, Thursday (21/3).
Ganjar said that the lawsuit once morest the Constitutional Court was carried out to maintain democracy. Because, since the beginning of the election process, many records have been deemed problematic and need to be straightened out.
“After last night’s announcement, the Ganjar-Mahfud Team has agreed that if all of this must be straightened out so that democracy can run well, then the last bastion is the Constitutional Court,” he said.
Apart from that, during the last month he and vice presidential candidate Mahfud MD have traveled around a number of areas to hear the aspirations of the people following the presidential election. According to him, there were many reports from the public and his party verified them one by one.
“For the past month, Mr. Mahfud and I have been walking around, seeing, listening. Many community groups have told us stories regarding the election process that is taking place in Indonesia,” he said.
Furthermore, Ganjar emphasized that this lawsuit was a very good momentum for the panel of judges who would later be at the Constitutional Court to show their credibility. The problem is, the Constitutional Court has received a lot of criticism because of serious ethical violations committed by former Chief Justice Anwar Usman. (Z-2)
