The video game “Troubles” was released, created by the developer Cyberia Nova and financed by the Internet Development Institute, which allocates money for “patriotic” content.

A game available only in the VK Play distribution service and only in the version for personal computers. Previously, the developers stated that they would not release the game on other digital stores or consoles.

“The Troubles” is an action-RPG without an open world, its script is based on the historical novel “Yuri Miloslavsky, or the Russians in 1612” by Mikhail Zagoskin. The player controls a character named Yuri Miloslavsky, who joins the militia to liberate Moscow from Polish troops.

The cost of “Smuta” is 2015 rubles.

After the invasion of Ukraine, the Russian gaming industry faced serious difficulties. Many large distributors have left the Russian market, and it has become more difficult for developers from the Russian Federation to gain access to the necessary software. “Smoota”, the development of which began back in 2020, became the most large-scale Russian project released following the start of the war.

As part of its work on “The Troubles,” Cyberia Nova received two grants from the Internet Development Institute for a total of 490 million rubles. Iran itself stated that they decided to finance the project in order to “get the locomotive of Russian video game development off the ground.”
