The game industry does not want E3 exhibition? The organizer revealed that Microsoft, Sony, and Ren Ren were very enthusiastic at first, but suddenly changed their faces | Game Corner | Digital

The well-known game exhibition E3 recently announced the cancellation of online and offline activities in 2023 due to insufficient attention.According to a report from GamesIndustry.biz, a media affiliated to the organizer ReedPopAt first, every major game company was very enthusiastic, but in the end they changed their faces one by one.

Christopher Dring, Head of Games B2B at GamesIndustry.biz, pointed out that from the beginning, all but one large game company were enthusiastic regarding participating in E3 2023. The team even thought regarding how to expand the parking lot and enable additional areas that had not been used for many years. The month is still running at full speed.

However, Dring also revealed that with a few months left before the official launch, there was no black and white signature, and everything began to change. It is said that major manufacturers such as Ubisoft, Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo have given reasons such as “not ready” and “the timing is not right” to withdraw.

Dring was disappointed that E3 wasn’t going to happen this year, but also admitted that ReedPop’s pace of action was a bit slower than anyone hoped, and that in hindsight, maybe E3 should have changed the format of the exhibition more radically, focusing more on online exhibitions. The next step is to take the route of commercial matching, rather than relying on exhibition booths to attract people to pilgrimage. That being said, Dring worries that if there were a sudden change, some might argue that E3 would turn into a completely different event.

In any case, it is a foregone conclusion that E3 will not be seen this year. As for whether it will rise once more in the future, Dring dare not guarantee it. If it wants to make a comeback, the entire industry has to hope that it will come back. If there is a new host hardware to be announced within a year, there may be a chance.
