A new leak from a well-known informant has just come out, regarding one of the new Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 tablet models. The Ultra version should offer impressive technical characteristics.
New information regarding this Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra tablet has come out, once once more courtesy of the famous and reliable Ice Universe on his Twitter account. The giant Samsung slate shouldn’t differ that much from its big sister, the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra, but its power and resistance would have benefited from nice improvements.
As expected, a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC
We were already talking regarding it yesterday, the official news concerning the new series of high-end tablets from Samsung is strangely discreet this year. The Korean giant has still not deigned to present them, while the Galaxy Tab S8 models had been presented at the same time as the Galaxy S22 in 2022. Rumors are therefore rife, such as those presenting the design of the Galaxy Tab S9+, while waiting for something concrete. This time we learn more regarding what might be the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra model, the most advanced and powerful version of the S9 series.
The regularly well-informed Ice Universe reveals today the possible technical specificities of this very high-end slate. As many suspected, the conglomerate’s device should feature a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy chip from Qualcomm. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC is already very powerful and equips most of the new Android smartphones this year. But this more specific version has been developed for Samsung Galaxy S23, S23+ and S23 Ultra smartphones. In particular, it has a greater processing capacity than the so-called standard chip, as well as optimized and more balanced GPU performance.
Water protection
It’s one of the new hobbyhorses of tech brands in recent months. Succeeding in offering an IP68-certified device is a good step forward for them. The Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra would benefit from this much sought-following certification, which promises excellent protection once morest dust and, above all, once morest prolonged immersion (regarding 30 minutes) in water. This doesn’t mean that you have to submerge the tablet in water, but if it should happen by accident, it should last a while.

For the rest, nothing really new compared to the previous model. The Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra should have the same dimensions as the S8 Ultra model, with its 208.6 × 326.4 × 5.5 mm, but would be a bit heavier, with 737 g once morest 728 g previously. The device would once once more have a 14.6-inch screen with a definition of 1,848×2,960 pixels. It would be equipped with an 11,200 mAh battery rechargeable at 45 W and 16 GB of LPDDR5X RAM. No information on its potential price, but we should not expect a lower cost than the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra, which amounts to 1,379 € in its minimum configuration (8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage).
