The new series Galaxy S22 from Samsung does not necessarily convince everyone, but for the moment, everything suggests that the new flagships of the Korean giant are selling very well. Moreover, in February, the manufacturer mentioned a number of pre-orders which doubled compared to the pre-orders of the Galaxy S21 series.
In addition, Samsung can also be delighted to have managed to register one of the models of this series, the Galaxy S22 Ultra, in the Guinness book of records. More precisely, it is the record for the largest number of people unboxing the same product simultaneously, on several sites.
To achieve this official record, Samsung organized an event in India. During this one, on March 5, 1,820 customers opened the boxes of their Galaxy S22 Ultra at the same time, before the product was put on the market. And as a bonus, those customers got limited editions that included a Galaxy Watch 4, along with the Galaxy Buds 2 headphones. Users were spread across 17 different cities.
“I am pleased to announce that Samsung India Electronics Private Limited has set a new record for ‘Most People Unboxing Simultaneously – Multiple Locations’ with 1820 successful participants. This fabulous event was held in 19 locations and delighted attendees received their phones and were part of a record”said Swapnil Dangarikar, official judge.
Remember that in 2019, Xiaomi also managed to enter the Guinness Book of Records, but for another category, thanks to 703 people who unpacked a box containing company products at the same time, in New York.
Galaxy S22: Samsung also announces record sales (but without Guinness)
Samsung offers itself a com’ coup while its Galaxy S22 series is already selling very well. In February, the manufacturer announced a record name (but not in Guinness) pre-orders for this new series of high-end smartphones, as well as tablets Galaxy Tab S8.
“The Galaxy S22 series and Galaxy Tab S8 series saw more pre-orders in the first week than any other Samsung smartphone and tablet to date. Pre-orders for the Galaxy S22 series have more than doubled those of the Galaxy S21 series. So far, the Galaxy S22 Ultra has generated more than 60% of sales. Galaxy Tab S8 series pre-orders also more than doubled the number of pre-orders for the Galaxy Tab S7 series. The Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra has generated around 50% of sales so far”said Samsung.
