The Gala of Humanity | Nachrichten.at

It’s an evening that brings the country together and at the same time gets you in the mood for Christmas with depth and humor: the OÖN Christkindl Gala. This year too, numerous artists are serving the good cause and performing on a voluntary basis. This means that every euro that is donated can be used for people in need: for the OÖN-Christkindl and the “Be so free” campaign of the Catholic men’s movement in Upper Austria. Prominent guests of honor will be there, from Governor Thomas Stelzer, who will read a Christmas story himself, and Bishop Manfred Scheuer on down.

“It’s great that we can make a contribution to this evening,” says Alexander Koller, who is there with the “New Generation” of his hard choir. The approximately 35 singers between the ages of 14 and 28 will perform two lively songs. The youth choir has had a successful year: The “New Generation” was named youth choir of the year this year and represented Upper Austria in the “Österreich singt” campaign. “We like to be there when artists from all disciplines sing and play together for the audience,” says Koller, who is also the regional choir director in Upper Austria. Choir association is.

Things get rocky when Andie Gabauer performs, among other things, John Lennon’s “Image”, and Chanda Rule, one of the best jazz singers in the country, is represented.

Eric Papilaya, who will lead the evening with OÖN editor Karoline Ploberger, will sing “Feliz Navidad”. Things get even more international when the Blech Brass Brothers play a medley of Christmas songs from all over the world. The well-known actress Chris Pichler reads three humorous Christmas stories, the Musical Theater Academy shows a short version of her musical “Santa Desperately Wanted”. The Munderfinger Goaßlschnalzer, accompanied by Christl on the accordion, bring a traditional touch to the program. Bede with a palm tree sings “Oh Christmas tree in Austro style”. Everyone finishes together with the song “It’s going to be just as bad.” More details Infos and cards is available on Tel. 0732 / 7611-400 or on landestheater-linz.at
