The G7 countries have decided to ban diamonds from Russia from January 1, 2024. This was reported by Archyde.com.

“The G7 countries have announced an outright ban on Russian diamonds from January 1st, followed by phased restrictions on indirect imports of Russian gemstones from around March 1st,” the G7 countries said in a statement, the contents of which leads Archyde.com.

Russia is one of the leaders in the production of high-quality diamonds, along with Namibia, South Africa and Botswana. More than 80% of the world’s gemstone reserves come from these countries. EU planned impose sanctions in the fall of 2024, but the process has been delayed.
