After the approval of the health reform in the House of Representatives and its next passage through the Senate, doubts arise regarding prepaid medicine in Colombia and what effect the initiative will have on people who have this type of complementary plan offered by the EPS.
In an interview with Noticias Caracol, the Minister of Health, Guillermo Alfonso Jaramillo, spoke regarding the future of prepaid medicine in Colombia.
The head of this portfolio emphasized that “they remain the same. I pay prepaid every month and it remains the same.”
Likewise, Minister Jaramillo made it clear that there will be no extra cost.
“Prepaid companies must be regulated, because because of prepaid many of the services that those of us who have prepaid receive receive are being paid for by the EPS. There we are going to have to review this situation very carefully and we hope that it can be done with the audit that the health-providing entities transformed into this are going to do,” he explained.
