Having managed to bring Olympique Lyonnais back out of the relegation zone, Pierre Sage is still waiting to find out more regarding his future at OL. But John Textor has a gift for him.
In the space of a few weeks, Pierre Sage has become the god of Lyon’s social networks, the head of the OL training center having displayed qualities which have allowed the Rhone players to rediscover some qualities. Exit Laurent Blanc who never really established himself in Lyon, or even worse Fabio Grosso who everyone has already forgotten, the boss is now Pierre Sage. Pierre Sage will be the coach of OL until June 2024, John Textor being convinced of having finally made the right choice.

And according to the Lyon media, not only is Pierre Sage confirmed in his functions until the end of the season, but also the boss of OL Groupe has accepted that two additional people will join the staff put in place by the current coach of Olympique Lyonnais. Enough to allow OL to start 2024 in battle order, especially if the 50 million euro transfer window keeps its promises. Until then, John Textor will still have to settle one issue, namely the departure of Fabio Grosso, because to this day the Italian coach is still under contract with Lyon and the club must pay him his salary. But that obviously doesn’t concern Pierre Sage who now knows that he can settle in for the long term and get his ideas across until the end of the season. And why not longer?
