In recent years, many (ex-)Red Devils have returned to Belgium, some with more success than others. A list that Michy Batshuayi might soon join.
Indeed, according to rumors, the 30-year-old striker, author of 27 goals in 53 caps, can count on concrete interest from Antwerp and Club Bruges. At his current employer, Fenerbahçe, Batshuayi has been sidelined.
According to local media, the center forward might leave the club in January but can also stay. Either way, his contract in Istanbul expires next summer. A small transfer fee might therefore be enough to attract him.
But that doesn’t mean the financial aspect will be easy to manage, as the striker is clearly earning a very good living at the moment. According to local sources, he refused to negotiate with Antwerp and Bruges.
Concrete offer from the Club and Antwerp
Club Brugge reportedly offered Batshuayi an annual salary of two million, plus a similar bonus. In return, Antwerp’s proposal would be a little lower. But Batshuayi himself would rather be in favor of a return to England.
In any case, Antwerp already has two attackers with Vincent Janssen and George Ilenikhena, while Igor Thiago is gradually making his mark in Bruges.
???? Club Brugge offered Batshuayi a salary of €2M with bonuses of 1.8 net. Antwerp has a slightly lower offer. Batshuayi looks cold. He wants to go to England.
