Shanghai (ots/PRNewswire) Huawei unveiled its brand new FusionSolar strategy and all-scenario Smart PV+Energy Storage System (ESS) solutions at the 16th SNEC PV Power Expo in Shanghai. These offerings demonstrate Huawei’s commitment to driving the global shift toward carbon neutrality.

In his keynote speech, Hou Jinlong, President of Huawei Digital Power, affirmed the accelerated energy transition from fossil fuels to renewable energy, driven by carbon neutrality, energy independence, and business value. Working with partners, Huawei Digital Power integrates digital and power electronic technologies, data and energy flows to provide all-scenario low-carbon products and solutions to customers around the world. The aim is to build an innovative power grid infrastructure that will advance the PV and ESS industry.

Unveiling of the next generation FusionSolar strategy

Chen Guoguang, President of Smart PV Business at Huawei Digital Power, introduced the brand new FusionSolar strategy. The strategy focuses on the convergence of 4T (Watt/Bit/Heat/Battery) technologies, the adoption of high quality industry standards with partners, and the enhancement of the six ecosystem partner systems. Chen also introduced Huawei’s forward-thinking, all-scenario smart VPV+ESS solutions.

In the large-scale field, Huawei has set the global trend of intelligent string inverters in the past decade. In the future, the company will develop intelligent grid-forming converters that integrate the PV+ESS+Grid+Management system to make photovoltaics an important energy source. Huawei’s partnership with China Resources Power in Qinghai, China led to the world’s first application of intelligent grid-forming converters and laid the foundation for future industry standards. In addition, Huawei supported ACWA Power and Power Construction Corporation of China in building the world’s largest PV+ESS microgrid project in Saudi Arabia, bringing clean electricity to a city of around one million people.

In commercial and industrial (C&I) scenarios, Huawei promotes technological innovation to set active safety as the standard and help customers reduce carbon emissions. In the coming decade, Huawei’s all-in-one solution “optimizer+PV+ESS+charger+load+management system” will enable campus facilities and factories to achieve 100% energy self-sufficiency.

In residential scenarios, Huawei aims to optimize household energy consumption through key technologies such as B. grid-independent power backup, intelligent energy planning in the house through the AI ​​​​energy management assistant (EMMA) and the interconnection of virtual power plants (VPP). These efforts will enable electricity independence and household self-sufficiency.

Introducing new FusionSolar products for all scenarios

Zheng Yue, President of Utility Smart PV Business, Huawei Digital Power, introduced the FusionSolar Smart PV&ESS solution, which features grid formation, low levelized cost of electricity (LCOE), high reliability, and comprehensive digitization.

Huawei’s intelligent PV&ESS solution works in both on-grid and off-grid scenarios, providing 40% more renewable energy capacity and 30% lower LCOE than a traditional solution. The multi-level 5+4 security concept ensures comprehensive protection from PV to ESS, from components to systems, and offers robust cyber security. The comprehensive digitalization enables a consistent recording of all components of a power plant.

Zhong Mingming, President of C&I Smart PV Business, Huawei Digital Power, introduced the C&I Optimizer+PV+ESS+Charger+Management System Solution 2.0. The solution, which combines optimizers, solar string inverters, ESS, chargers and management services, features intelligent energy yield, intelligent power consumption, intelligent reliability, intelligent operational management and active security. It lowers customers’ power consumption costs through intelligent technologies in the areas of energy yield, power consumption, reliability and operational management. The solution also ensures active safety at the device, plant and person level.

Zhou Tao, President of Residential Smart PV Business, Huawei Digital Power, introduced the Residential Smart PV Solution 4.0. This 1+4+X Optimizer+PV+ESS+Charger+Load+Management System offers power self-sufficiency, intelligent control and active safety. It improves roof utilization by 10-30%, energy yield on the roof by up to 35% and self-consumption by 10%. The integration of the Smart PV Solution for residential buildings with the Huawei All-in-One Smart Home provides real-time insight and holistic control of energy data and promotes self-sufficiency in electricity. Another focus of the solution is active security, characterized by faster response times and better protection performance at component and system level.

By March 2023, Huawei Digital Power has helped global customers generate 769.5 billion kWh of green electricity, avoiding 350 million tons of carbon emissions – the equivalent of planting 480 million trees.
