On Friday evening, in the heart of Vilnius, on Cathedral Square, the famous British group “Circa Waves” will perform. Also, on the same evening, Vidas Bareikis, one of the most charismatic Lithuanian performers, will rock the big stage of the festival with the “VB gang” team. On Saturday, August 31, one of the brightest stars of Lithuanian music, “Daddy Was A Milkman”, will perform in the Cathedral Square, and the whole evening will be crowned and the calendar summer will be accompanied by the charming Monika Liu’s concert with the band.
On the late Friday and Saturday evenings of the “Capital Days”, the laser show “Cosmos” will fill the skies of Vilnius, which everyone will be able to watch on the big meadow by the White Bridge from the side of Upė Street. In the record-breaking laser show, the audience will be able to go on an intergalactic journey, watch the rays of the stars, find themselves in a meteor shower and travel to the wonderful space.
The people of Vilnius invite all their neighbors, friends and city guests to meet in the “humming” Gediminas Avenue, where four action spaces that fulfill various needs, desires and fantasies await. On “Arts and Music Street”, Gedimino Ave. from the Cathedral to V. Kudirka Square, there will be exhibitions of visual arts, exhibitions of professional artists, here you will also find the works of potters and painters, various works of art.
The stage located near the National Drama Theater hosts literary events, new book presentations, meetings with authors and interesting personalities. And on the main stage of Gediminas Prospekt near V. Kudirka Square, there will be many performances by the most anticipated artists, including the groups “jautì”, “Colours of Bubbles”, “Garbanotas”, Ieva Narkutė, Petunija, Kristijonas Ribaitis, “Shower”, “Superkoloritas”, ” Deer Horn Forest”, “Orai”, “Kedrostubùras” and many others.
V. Kudirka square and Gediminas avenue from Jogaila st. to Jakšto st. in the equipped “Style Location” space, festival guests will be able to enjoy the pearls of Lithuanian design, the latest style discoveries, buy designer pieces, accessories, clothes, etc. that they like. In Gediminas avenue stretching far from A. Jakšto st. to Lukiškių Square, the “Gardių lauktuvių kelia” will be located, where everyone can taste and buy a variety of delicacies – those who come hungry will leave with full stomachs!

The “Vilnius Sport Festival”, which has become an integral part of “Capital Days”, will be located in the active leisure space – Lukiškiau Square and Baltoj tilto sports field. In addition to traditional sports, martial arts, racket sports, gymnastics, basketball, football, boxing, dance, this year there will be plenty of innovations. Special attention will be paid to new sports technologies, drones, special apps that help those who do sports, it will also be possible to check your endurance and health status and discover new sports activities – try catchibol, pole sports and many other activities.
The participants of “Capital Days” who want to travel and get to know Lithuania will be particularly helped by “Turizmo gatvė” located at the entrance to Lukiškių Square. Tourist information centers from Vilnius, Šiauliai, Utena, Alytus, Trakai, Druskininkai, Klaipėda and other cities will be waiting for everyone there, which will invite you to plan trips around the country and not to miss the most attractive experiences.
The Neries embankment near the White Bridge will traditionally be “occupied” by the impressive “Good Food Bank” – a real festival of food carts. The most diverse dishes will be prepared here by all kinds of restaurants, by widely recognized “gourmet” creators, by new kitchen masters, and by enthusiastic startups. Performances of famous artists will be held on the Neris river stage next to the White Bridge, Konstantinas Lilas, Furytto, Jurga Šeduikytė, Pijus Opera, Mesijus, groups “Kabloonak”, “Kyla Vējas!”, “Nika Ganga”, “Arbata”, “Sudden” will perform here. And this year, the “Kakės Makes Trampoline Park” will be waiting for everyone in the Children’s and Family Amusement Park located in the big meadow near the White Bridge – an impressive-sized space for inflatable trampolines, where not only children can have fun!
At the “Sostinės dienos” festival, the “Book Square” will be located on the Cathedral Square for the fifth time and will invite readers – more than forty publishing houses will present the latest books, and various events will take place on two stages: talks, discussions, presentations of the latest books, workshops for children, etc.
Film lovers will be welcomed in the Bernardine Garden by the main fountain. In this space, the Silver Crane National Film Awards together with the César Academy present the short film festival “Golden Nights / Les Nuits en Or”, the program of which will consist of more than 30 films from different corners of the world that have won the equivalent of their country’s film academy awards (” Oscar”, “Goya”, “David di Donatello”, etc.). The festival program also includes director Eitvydas Doškaus’ film “Here was Vilnius”, which won the “Silver Crane”.
