200,000 visitors expected

“In terms of surface area, it is completely comparable to the pre-Covid editions, with three halls and the return of the historic stands that we were not able to do last year,” indicated Nicolas Vignolles, delegate general of the Leisure Software Publishers Union, organizer of the show.

After bringing together 150,000 visitors last year, “around 200,000 visitors” at least are expected for this edition, while the attendance was around 300,000 before 2020.

“Our ambition is not necessarily all-out gigantism. Video game publishers and manufacturers no longer set quantitative objectives for events but rather a successful experience,” insists Nicolas Vignolles. The three big console manufacturers (Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo) will be there, like major publishers like Ubisoft, Bandai Namco, Capcom or Square Enix.

Test new things

If Paris Games Week is not the place for major announcements of new titles, the show remains important for French “gamers”, who have the opportunity to test “in real life” and for the first time the latest new releases. of year. Among the most anticipated games: “Final Fantasy VII Rebirth”, second part of the remake of the famous role-playing game from the 1990s, the fighting game “Tekken 8” or even “Prince of Persia The Lost Crown”, whose releases are scheduled for January-February 2024.

A sign of the rise in power of esports during this edition, the main stage goes from 800 to 1,800 seats, including national finals of video game competitions.
