After Ostersund and Hochfilzen, the best international biathletes stop for the first time in Lenzerheide (Switzerland) from December 14 to 17. The opportunity for the Blues to test this site which will host the world championships in 2025.
No Grand Bornand this year. Instead, the IBU preferred to opt for the site of Lenzerheide, Switzerland, to compete in the third stage of the World Cup. The reason ? The elite of world biathlon will compete in the world championships in February 2025. Being one of the flagship events on the secondary circuit calendar, but never yet on the A circuit, the IBU wishes to test the Swiss installations in real conditions with a view to of the Worlds.

From December 14 to 17, the best international biathletes are expected in the canton of Graubünden to close the first block of the 2023/2024 season. During the first two days, the athletes will compete in a sprint, followed by the planned pursuits. The first mass starts of the winter are scheduled for Sunday.
The staff of the French team did not reserve any surprises regarding the selection of the tricolors present in Switzerland. Among the men, we find Quentin Fillon-Maillet, Émilien Jacquelin, Antonin Guigonnat, Fabien Claude, Émilien Claude and Éric Perrot. The Blues are expected to turn the corner, having yet to achieve any individual podium this season. Among the women, Lou Jeanmonnot, Julia Simon, Justine Braisaz-Bouchet, Chloé Chevalier, Sophie Chauveau and Gilonne Guigonnat, are part of the trip. La Franc-Comtoise, second in the general ranking (251 points) behind Ingrid Trandrevold (271 points), will however lose points this week. Positive for covid, the biathlete winner of the sprint/pursuit combo in Sweden will not compete in either the sprint or the pursuit. “My mission ? Be operational for mass-start”, she aims on her social networks.
