The Fourteenth National People’s Congress of the People’s Republic of China continues

The Fourteenth National People’s Congress of the People’s Republic of China continues. The conference which started on March 5 will end on March 13. China’s new president and premier will be elected on March 10. Elections will also be held for the government platforms including the cabinet.

The first annual meeting takes place in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. The 14th Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, which began on March 4, is continuing in Beijing with the participation of representatives from the fields of art, law, business and culture. The meetings of the executive, which is the top body of the Communist Party of China after the Party Congress, will examine the gains and losses of the previous session and take critical management decisions for the next session. Out of 2977 delegates participating in the National People’s Congress, 790 are women. 442 people represent minority.

China’s budget was discussed at the People’s Congress the other day. China’s expected growth rate for next year is 5 percent. Discussion continues on the government’s performance report presented by Chinese Premier Ke Qiang. The conference will also discuss what should be China’s position on the developments taking place at the international level. It will also address issues in Taiwan and Hong Kong, which are part of the country. And relations with neighboring countries will also be included in the examination of the conference.

It is indicated that Xi Jinping, who was elected as the General Secretary of the Party at the recent Party Congress, will continue as the President of People’s China for the next term. Chinese Premier Ke Qiang may resign. March 10 is the election for the posts of President and Prime Minister. Elections to the Cabinet and various other components will be held in the People’s Congress.
