Strengthening bilateral defense cooperation and informing regarding the Finnish military service model were at the top of the agenda of Defense Minister Nikos Dendias, who is visiting Finland.
The Finnish model is based on volunteerism and is a key factor that has evolved in the Nordic country.
How it will be implemented in Greece, the staffs will answer to the political leadership, which provides valuable information.
The main and key points of the Finnish model are the following:
“There will be Greek officers who will go even deeper but what is becoming evident is that an army can meet the demands of the 21st century – a citizen’s army. I am glad that the choice of the Greek Republic has always been – and will always be – to rely on the citizens’ army” said Nikos Dendias.
