Former Twitter CEO and co-founder Jack Dorsey publicly criticized Elon Musk’s leadership of the company in a series of social media posts on Friday, writing that “everything is going down” and that Musk “should have walked away” from the acquisition.

Users of Bluesky, a buzzy new social media platform being touted as a potential alternative to Twitter, have fueled the discussion. They asked Dorsey if he thought Musk was the right leader for Twitter, and Dorsey replied, “No.”

“No,” he said. “And I don’t think he acted right following realizing his timing was bad. Nor do I think the board should have forced the sale.” Dorsey wrote, “Everything went south,” according to what was reported by “CNBC”, and was viewed by “Al Arabiya.net”.

He added that he is happy to build new social media platforms such as “Bluesky”. Dorsey has supported Blue Sky since 2019, when he was still CEO of Twitter, and Dorsey previously described Musk as the “only solution” to take control of Twitter.

In a tweet from April 2022, Dorsey said he trusts Musk’s “mission to expand the light of awareness” across the platform. But a year later, Dorsey’s mind seems to have changed.

Musk, who is also CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, whose $44 billion acquisition of the platform sparked turmoil on Twitter late last year. Sharp job cuts, sweeping policy changes, and platform-specific features have shaken the trust of advertisers, politicians, and celebrities.

Many have publicly announced their decision to leave the platform or reduce its use, including Eton John, Jim Carrey, and the MTA – the New York City Transit Agency.
