The former mayor of Valencia, Edgardo Parra, passed away

Victim of a heart attack while he was sleeping, this Saturday the former mayor of Valencia, Edgardo Rafael Parra Oquendo, 75, a Psuv militant, died.

He died alone at his home in Valles de Camoruco, as confirmed by his son Enrique, who found his lifeless body in bed this morning.

The night before he had told her that he felt certain ailments, so he bought him some medicines and gave them to him to improve, however he died.

Friends of the former mayor are surprised by what happened, because he was a person who liked to run and did so daily.

Edgardo Parra, born in the state of Zulia, came from a large family, to the point that he had 21 siblings.

He was in charge of Corpocentro for eight years. He was elected as mayor of Valencia for the 2008-13 period, but in the last year he was removed from office for alleged acts of corruption.

He was detained at the Sebin in Naguanagua and was subsequently sentenced to house arrest. Then he was granted absolute freedom.
