Ibrahim pointed out that he “seeks to remain involved in the public field,” explaining that he “did not seek any position and the goal is not the title.”
During his speech on Al-Jadeed channel, today, Sunday, Ibrahim announced that he would not come out of the fold of the “Shiite duo”, and said: “Nevertheless, I will be independent in every sense of the word, and I do not seek any ministry..I can choose a ministry that suits me.” With the nature of my work, which is the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

In the context of his speech, Ibrahim revealed that he met the Secretary-General of “Hezbollah”, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, regarding two months ago, and said: “The details of the meeting focused on the last stage related to my career in public security, and things ended with a joint dinner with Sayyed Nasrallah.”
He added, “As for my visit to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad a few months ago, it was the culmination of the end of my service in the General Security.”
He continued, “I believe that where there is occupation, there must be resistance, and I no longer think of a security method and the issue of files related to people’s lives. It is a crime to disclose them before their conclusions.”
In response to a question, he replied: “The law does not allow me to continue to be at the head of public security simply, and to amend it, a law or the way out that the legislator sees should be issued, and I submit to the law. There was a project to extend Abbas Ibrahim if the legislative session took place.”
He continued, “I was offered to work outside Lebanon, and there are many countries and organizations that need people with experience in negotiation, but I refused.”
Regarding the presidential election file, Ibrahim said: “The equations are not ready yet, and we have to wait, and the party has said everything it has to say publicly regarding the nomination of the head of the Marada Movement, Suleiman Franjieh.”
Ibrahim considered that dialogue is a safety valve for the country, stressing the necessity of “agreeing on the president of the republic.” He said, “There will be no president under the current parliament without consensus and dialogue.”
Regarding the Beirut port bombing case, Ibrahim considered that “the entry of security into this labyrinth is illegal,” revealing that the possibility of his arrest by the judicial investigator Tariq Al-Bitar was great, and he said: “I do not know who is behind the latter in this matter, and I tell every judge to work according to his conscience.” “.
Regarding the file of the land demarcation of the southern borders, Ibrahim said that “there is a call for the political authority to fix the reserved land border points.” There were American temptations worth $500 million to resolve every border dispute point, but I rejected this path.
He added, “I am not ready to sell any Lebanese land… We are martyred for this land and we are not willing to sell it for money.”
