The “Foreign Ministry” welcomed the decision of the Iraqi Council of Ministers

In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates welcomed “the decision of the Iraqi Council of Ministers to lift the entry visa for Lebanese citizens upon entering Iraqi territory, in application of the principle of reciprocity.”

She pointed out that “this decision came following vigorous follow-up in which, in addition to the Lebanese embassy in Baghdad, several Lebanese officials participated, the latest of which was the Minister of Labor, Mustafa Bayram, with Iraqi political leaders, which culminated in the directives of President Muhammad Shia’a al-Sudani.”

And she pointed out that “this decision does not become effective, except following it has been circulated to the border crossings and it has received an official notification of that from the Iraqi authorities, and it will continue to follow up the issue through the Lebanese embassy in Iraq to reach its conclusions, where it will announce, at that time, all the reasons and conditions of the decision.” To facilitate the affairs of the Lebanese who wish to visit Iraq.
