The murder of the prosecutor of Paraguay, has generated commission in several sectors of Colombia, not only from the presidency this fact is repudiated, but also bodies such as the Foreign Ministry have expressed their condolences.
In a press release from the vice president and chancellor, Marta Lucía Ramírez, she informs that the Foreign Ministry is willing to collaborate with the investigation work that is being carried out and they also affirm that President Duque is aware of the situation.
This is what the vice president and chancellor expresses in the press release:
1. President Ivan Duque has been at the forefront of this situation and in permanent contact with his Paraguayan counterpart, Mario Abdo Benítez, in order to contribute to research of this fact and capture those responsible.
2. Likewise, by instruction of President Iván Duque, The director of the Police, General Jorge Luis Vargas, will lead the investigation with five specialized members of that institution, in order to provide all the help in the investigation and accompany the Paraguayan authorities to clarify the motives and authors of this heinous crime, which the Colombian government strongly repudiates.
3. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Colombia is in contact with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Paraguay, as well as with the ambassador of that country in Colombia, Sofía López Garelli, in order to offer all the collaboration in the procedures related to legal medicine and subsequent repatriation of his remains to Paraguay.
4. We express all the feeling of condolence and solidarity in the face of this reprehensible fact.
