The Football Association retracts the decision to relieve Al-Ahly players from the national team camp

Ihab El-Komy, a board member of the Egyptian Football Association, retracted his earlier statements regarding excluding Al-Ahly players from the upcoming first national team camp.

Al-Koumi said in statements on the Sada Al-Balad channel: “Two days ago, we were in a very stressful meeting within the Football Association, and following that we made several phone calls to the programs, and I was asked regarding the position of Al-Ahly players who received a negative rest, as well as the injured players from participating in the next team camp. “.

He added, “At the time, because of fatigue, I thought that the question was related to the injured players only, so I said that the injured players would not be in the team’s camp, but now I confirm the selection of the players is a special technical vision of coach Roy Vitoria, and he is the one who makes his decisions in this regard.”

El-Koumi continued, “I do not know whether Roy Vitoria was asked regarding the position of Al-Ahly players regarding the upcoming camp or not. Hazem Imam, the council member, is the one who communicates permanently with the Portuguese coach.”

In a related context, El-Koumi said: “The Englishman, Mark Clattenburg, the new head of the referees committee, said that he is coming to develop Egyptian arbitration, which has good elements, and there are things we want to avoid, especially in the video technology file.”

And Ihab El-Koumi concluded, saying: “Klattenberg settled on setting up a camp for 40 referees in Cairo Stadium following the end of the league, and Gamal Allam, president of the Football Association, confirmed that he does not interfere in his work, and if he wants assistants, we will contract with them.”
