The followers would probably be prepared to sit down themselves and harm their need to chase the otter away

This is a discussion post. The post is an expression of the writer’s own position.

Yes, North Jutland flies a completely clean flag with regard to the newspaper’s position on a motorway.

Well, that’s probably not a big news, but doesn’t justify the condescending tone.

I think of the old parenting method “it hurts me more than you – but it’s necessary”.

It is written that, among other things, “hardly ever in Aalborg’s history have there been so many people who feel so overwhelmed by a political majority, but that’s how a democracy works”.

It is also mentioned that one will always protest once morest a motorway near one’s back garden. However, I personally live far from the alignment myself, and there are people who actually think regarding nature and future generations, who have to do without the “breathing hole” close to the city that Egholm is for me.

In contrast, Politiken had an article with the headline “It’s completely black: New motorway destroys peaceful oasis with 100,000 visitors”.

At the same time, the global climate is alarmingly wrong, but that does not stop the politicians from wanting to destroy a unique island.

The head shake

In a reader’s letter of 20 March 2024, member of the Norwegian Parliament Per Larsen (K) writes that the alignment “will improve the quality of life of North Jutland citizens”.

Here I am of the opposite opinion, for my part and perhaps also for some others who live in the city, I would think it will lead to a deterioration in the quality of life due to the noise level alone, and for my part it is the end of using the beautiful island as an excursion destination, recreation, and have lunch at Kronborg.

Guests from other parts of the country worry when they have visited Egholm and hear regarding motorway plans.

It is certainly sad, in order to save some time, and yes, queue formations might perhaps even be used constructively, but now you can rush across Egholm, and nature experiences and the stress-relieving effect of nature must be chased by the people of Aalborg!

My motto is better a traffic jam than a blood clot.

Limitless

Unique wildlife and nature are apparently numbingly indifferent to it, and the island must be plowed up in favor of a motorway. Dog excrement must chase the breeding otters away – yes, I can vividly imagine that some of the die-hard supporters would be prepared to sit down and pollute their emergency grounds themselves, if necessary in their eagerness to establish that highway across the island.

“The decision has been made, let’s not see it moving forward” is a statement that is often uttered even though experts have calculated that it is not a sustainable solution.

They will not look at the alternative, but rather spend the billions it costs.

It surprises me that a bad decision cannot be reviewed, but of course it can cost votes, and not least money. The votes rule, and I hope that the social democracy will lose votes.

But it still won’t make up for the loss of Egholm as a unique island with nature.

Completely limitless and orderliness is “a city in Russia” in my opinion.
