The Fnideq incident and the mass migration of thousands of young people to Ceuta have reached the parliament, against the backdrop of the written question addressed by the MP of the Popular Movement Party, Mohamed Ouzzine, to the government regarding the absence of the government’s voice on this incident and the repercussions of this serious and unprecedented crisis.
In his question, Ozin said: “As you and the government know, the Fnideq region has recently witnessed unfortunate events due to the displacement of thousands of young people, including hundreds of minors, with the aim of illegal mass migration towards the occupied city of Ceuta after a systematic and announced media campaign through various social media platforms. This is the first operation of its kind, which the public forces dealt with with vigilance and wisdom that enabled them to contain this serious crisis, the repercussions and motives of which still question us all, each from his position. It directly questions the making of public policies directed at young people in all their dimensions, especially in light of the reports of governance bodies and institutions that revealed indicators and figures that sounded the alarm about the miserable conditions experienced by a large base of Moroccan youth who have developed a firm conviction that they are outside the calculations of public policies directed at them.”
Following this serious incident that tarnished the image of a country the size of Morocco, with its distinguished development model and strategic evidence that our country established thanks to the wise vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God protect him, Ozin added, Moroccans were surprised by the absence of the government’s voice regarding these serious events and the absence of any reaction on its part, neither in terms of communication nor in terms of initiative, leaving national public opinion prey to news and scenes in which falsehood is intertwined with truth, and reality with fabrication, until things reached the point of promoting videos and photos that tarnish the noble efforts of the various public forces and territorial authorities and aim to undermine their heroic sacrifices to protect the reputation of the country and protect the rising generations of its children. All of this unfortunately happens amid the complete silence of the public media and the incomprehensible and unjustified absence of any official position or initiative.
On this basis, the MP asked the government about the urgent governmental measures taken to uncover the truth of what happened and is happening around Fnideq and about the government’s vision to address the causes and motivations for the return of the option of illegal immigration in an unprecedented quantitative and qualitative manner and about the governmental alternatives to formulate new public policies to ensure the positive and effective integration of youth into various aspects of public life and within the core of the social state and the option of the new development model.
