She comes back, but alone… and that’s reassuring. The flu which had contributed at the beginning of the winter to an unusual situation of “ triple epidemic “, with several waves of Covid as well as an outbreak of bronchiolitis, has returned to France.
Last week saw a “stability of the majority of flu indicators for all ages in the city and in hospitals”, according to a weekly report from Public Health France. The epidemic of fluwho arrived in France quite early this season, had calmed down at the start of the year, but has picked up once more in recent weeks.
Hauts-de-France and Normandy come out of it
However, this rise is now slowing markedly, with the number of cases well below the peak of the first wave, suggesting that this recovery will not reach the levels of the end of 2022.
Last week, the epidemic did not therefore show any significant change: in mainland France, 11 out of 13 regions are still affected, only the Hauts-de-France and Normandy being in the phase of emerging from the epidemic. Overseas, the Antilles and the Guyana are always struck.
Declining bronchiolitis
The epidemic of bronchiolitis, in decline since the end of December, continues to end across French territory. It ended in five new regions: Centre-Loire Valley, Corse, Normandie, New Aquitaine and Provence-Alpes Côte d’Azur. However, it continues to Mayotte and Reunion.
