The flu epidemic ends in metropolitan France

The past week has been marked by the “continued decrease in most influenza indicators at the national and regional level”, summarized the public health agency in its weekly report. In mainland France, all the regions have now moved into the “post-epidemic” phase and are therefore no longer in an epidemic situation strictly speaking.

However, this means that the virus continues to circulate. A region can, moreover, go back from a post-epidemic phase to an epidemic situation, as was the case for example in Île-de-France a few weeks ago. Such a situation, however, seems unlikely at this advanced time of the year, the return of fine weather notably limiting contacts inside.
