New details were known this Friday regarding the programming of the long-awaited party that might not take place on a regular basis in the past two years due to the pandemic. After announcing that the celebration will take place between August 5 and 15, the Medellín Mayor’s Office announced that more than 3,200 artists will participate in the 100 public and private events.
This year, 100% presence in the activities is also guaranteed and 13 stages will be enabled (with free admission) for the presentations of local, national and international artists, including Totó La Momposina, Andy Montañez, Rikarena, Kevin Johansen, Chocquibtown, Wilfrido Vargas, Reykon, Los Hermanos Aicardi, Adriana Lucía, Karen Lizarazo and Miranda, among others.
What will be the activities of the Fair?
There will also be space for the traditional activities of this festival, such as the XVIII National Festival of the City of Medellín Trova and the Silleteros Parade, which returns to the streets of the city following being held last year at the Atanasio Girardot stadium. This will return to Avenida del Río, on August 15, where 520 silleteros will parade (10 more than last year) and, For the first time, citizens will have free access to the stands, but with a ticket.

Likewise, the programming will include the Ball de las Flores, created in 2021 for the inclusion of the LGTBIQ+ community and that this year will have programming in Hangar Park. The Rutas de las Flores are not left out, consisting of 15 mobile stages that will tour the neighborhoods with artistic programming, troubadours and silleteros, since the idea is to take the Fair to the different communes and districts. There will also be the renowned Bicycle Rhythm Fair.
With El Vásquez se Veste de Flores, the patrimonial importance of this place, the heart of Medellin’s culture, will be extolled and a flower exhibition will be held with an artistic program. In addition, there will be the Peasant Cultural Farms and the Most Decorated Block. And to recognize the construction of peace, the Made in Peace fair will be held in Ciudad del Río.
