The Flower Fair 2024 in Medellin has established itself as one of the most iconic and successful events of the year, not only for its vast cultural programme, but also for its economic and social impact on the city. This year, the fair returned to its origins, focusing on community participation and the exaltation of local traditions, attracting more than 2,100,000 people who enjoyed 10 days of extensive programming.
Throughout the Fair, citizens and tourists had access to more than 100 events with free admission. These activities took place in multiple settings, including neighborhoods and districts, allowing Antioquian culture to reach every corner of the city. The inaugural concert, held in the Obelisco sector, marked the beginning of a party that would culminate with the iconic Silleteros Parade, attended by more than 1,300,000 people, including residents and visitors.

Significant economic impact
In addition to being a cultural celebration, the 2024 Flower Fair also had a considerable economic impact on Medellín. The economic impact reached 42.1 million dollars, a reflection of the large flow of tourists and the intense commercial activity during the days of the fair. Hotel occupancy reached 77.6%.
According to reports, the city received 291,110 visitors, of which 51,558 arrived through the José María Córdova Airport, with a notable increase of 6.2% compared to the previous year. International visitors increased by 9.5%, which shows the growing interest that Medellín generates as a tourist destination abroad.
One of the highlights of the fair was the diversity and magnitude of the events. carried out as the Night Cultural Park in Plaza Gardel at the Olaya Herrera airport, the Flower Squares and the National City Trova Festival.

One of the most significant achievements of the 2024 Flower Fair was the notable improvement in terms of security. During the 10 days of celebration, there was a 70% reduction in the number of homicides compared to the previous year, with 11 fewer cases reported. Likewise, thefts decreased by 74%, with 575 fewer cases than in the 2023 fair.
The 2025 Flower Fair, which will take place from August 1 to 10, promises to exceed the expectations and figures achieved this year.
