“This does not provide any structural response to the lack of personnel and this will lead to a decline in salary and working conditions”, considers this union. He asks the government to reconsider its decision.
The ACV Puls points out that the salaries of people working in flexi-jobs are lower than those allocated to traditional employment contracts. He gives examples of salary differences of a third or more following 5 years of seniority, and “this difference increases with more experience”. In addition, people with a flexi-job do not receive compensation for, for example, overtime and evening, weekend or night work.
“Employers will therefore give their preference to a cheap ‘flexi-jobber'”, assures the union according to which, thousands of part-time workers in the sector are nevertheless ready to work more hours and might therefore quickly help to fill some vacancies. “The introduction of flexi-jobs is a slap in the face for these thousands of part-time colleagues and will condemn them to reduced hours or to accept an unfavorable status in order to work more”.
