The premiere of The Flash on HBO Max is much luckier than we imagined. However, the DC movie remains the same.
The Flash is the luckiest DC Comics movie on HBO Max. It’s been 53 days since its release in theaters and Warner Bros. Pictures has not yet announced the release date on the streaming platform of the latest DCEU movie. This is a frustrating record, but also a great fortune. However, its delay in streaming has not meant that it is a success at the box office. In this case, the box office has had no influence on its non-launch in the streaming catalogue. A shame.
At the end of July, HBO Max shared a list of new movies and series coming to the streaming service in August. And The Flash was not on that list. When September begins, it will have been 77 days since the DC Comics movie was released in theaters. Which means that the period of time between the cinema and streaming will be, at least, that. But it will probably be even longer.
The film will not arrive on the streaming platform until September
Warner Bros. Pictures
With an issuance period of at least 77 days, The Flash will break the frustrating record for the longest wait since launch HBO Max. The previous DC Comics record was held by Shazam 2: The Fury of the Gods, with 67 days. In fact, its premiere coincided with the brand change of the streaming platform. Since the establishment of the modern era, these have been the DCEU movies and their waiting days:
Wonder Woman 1984 = 0 days The Suicide Squad = 0 days The Batman = 45 days Super Pets = 59 days Black Adam = 56 days Shazam 2: The Fury of Gods = 67 daysThe Flash = 77 days
This is what is currently happening with DC Comics en HBO Max. Of course, Andy Muschietti’s film has been very fortunate for not coinciding with the time of the coronavirus, which shortened streaming deadlines and affected box office collection. Unfortunately, as we have indicated in the first paragraph, the Ezra Miller film was a flop in the box office.
