Andy Muschietti’s movie trailer (That) aired before the Super Bowl. It shows Barry Allen/The Flash, played by Miller, traveling through time (yes, it looks like DC is getting into the multiverse game) to try to prevent the murder of his mother, causing a whole lot of damage and crossing paths with Batman, played once once more by Michael Keaton.
We also get a glimpse of Michael Shannon’s General Zod, who’s back to wreak havoc, and Supergirl (Sasha Calle), who flies through the air and takes down bad guys with the utmost of ease.
The film was originally scheduled for release on July 1, 2022, but it was delayed while Warner Bros. wondered whether to release it or not following the multiple setbacks with the film’s star, Ezra Miller. He had been accused of brainwashing of a number of young people, of harboring children at his gun-filled Vermont residence, of being arrested multiple times in Hawaii for a series of alleged public disturbances and assaults, and of believe that he was the Messiah pursued by demons.
But the film received very good feedback in its test sessions, also Warner Bros. decided to release it despite the controversies.
