The five most unhealthy habits after 60

After age 60, it’s especially important to take care of your health and well-being, says Nurse Sean Marchese. For example, at this age, various changes associated with metabolism or digestion may be signs of colon or abdominal cancer, and cognitive decline may indicate Alzheimer’s disease. But here are some habits in 60+ years that have the worst effect on human health.

  1. Thinking depression with aging is normal. Scientists say that approximately 33 percent of people who are 60+ feel happier than those who are 30 or older. If you feel anxious or have signs of depression, see a specialist.

  2. Refuse to play sports. At the age of 60+, there are a large number of activities that will help strengthen the heart, improve cognitive abilities and metabolism. It can even be a simple walk in the pool. Experts advise people who are 65 or older to do 150 minutes of moderate-intensity training per week (or half an hour a day for five days) or replace them with high-intensity workouts, but then they will need to do 75 minutes per week.
